A Cinema Caning

 Frank and I        France 1983

The caning of girls in the Mainstream cinema is few and far between. An exception is Frank and I, directed by Gerard Kikoine, a Victorian erotic melodrama. In it, Christopher Pearson as the wealthy Beaumont canes Jennifer Inch as "Frank", finding out in the process that "he" is a girl. Without the dreadful lighting, it would have been a good caning scene. However, the whole scene is so obviously faked and Miss Inch's acting is rather unconvincing. In addition, one wonders why the pretence of a girl dressed as a boy is necessary to introduce such a scene. All a bit of a pity.
