This posed picture shows the emminently British actor, Roland Culver spanking the delectable Anne Vernon in the Little Hut at a photoshoot on 7th October 1953. It was moderately successful in the UK, but the Broadway production closed quickly, the story having too much ooh-la-la for a 1953 American audience. This is one of the excellent spanking scenes that failed to transfer to the cinematic version, reputedly because the feministic Ava Gardner refused to do the scene. |

The play occasionally appears in repertory. For instance, above we have a still from the 1960 production at the Antrim Playhouse in White Plains, New York, where Burt Crowfut is spanking Dorothy Jersey. In a clearly posed still, he seems to be very determined, but she is smiling! The latest production we have discovered was at the Greenwich Theatre in East London (UK) in 2010, but there is no indication that the spanking survived.

This strange cartoon turned up on the internet, labelled The Little Hut, but we cannot find any more details for it. However, it is fairly certainly a cartoon representation of Culver and Vernon.
